Clicks HQ

Over the last few months, Bing has been busy redesigning and updating their metrics tools in Bing Webmaster Tools.

This month, Bing has released new changes to the way in which percentage change is calculated in the Site Activity section.

The following metrics are affected by this new change:

  • Clicks from search
  • Appeared in search
  • Pages crawled
  • Crawl errors
  • Pages indexed

Percentage changes for the last 30 days in Webmaster Tools (via Bing):

A pre-specified date range can be chosen by adjusting the date selector at the top of the dashboard, and the percentage change of that particular metric can be assessed in comparison with the previous date range of the same length. For example, if you were to select December 1-15, the previous date range would be November 15-30. You are then able to evaluate the relative percentage changes between those two time periods.

In addition to percentages, Bing is now displaying actual numerical increases/decreases for the current and previous periods, so users are able to view raw data.

Owing to the fact that Bing Webmaster Tools stores the last 6 months of data, users are able to view percentage change information for up to 3 months prior to the original time frame.

As Bing continues to develop its Webmaster Tools, it is becoming a valuable package for SEO experts and digital marketing specialists.
