1. Good keywords, tags and title: Ensuring your content has the right keywords is very important as it’s how people will find your content. Make sure that your videos are tagged correctly, allowing YouTube to rank your video better. Remember, YouTube is a search engine.

 

2. Focus on entertaining, not advertising: When it comes to making videos, you must try and keep away from advertising. People don’t go on YouTube to watch adverts, they get enough on the television. It’s alright to direct people to your website at the end of the video, but ensure that your videos are engaging and beneficial to the viewer.

 

3. Get interactive: Get interactive with the customers and their feedback. Try to respond to all feedback with a personal message for the reviewer.

 

4. Use words not text: When it comes to linking back to your website, rather than solely relying on a link within the text description of your website, ensure that is it also mentioned in the video. Professionals have proven that is very effective to mention it in the video as well.

 

5. Make the most out of communities: Much like Facebook groups, communities are a great way to connect with like-minded people. They are also an excellent place to share your videos and get some good feedback.

 

6. Share across all your social media channels: When you upload a video, you should share it across all social media channels spreading its reach. Make sure that you vary the content directing people to your YouTube page, do not simply copy each post across all platforms.

 

7. Make use of the free analytics’ tool: Google offer a free analytics software which can be accessed via your uploaded videos or on your account. Make use of this in order to quantify the performance of your videos.

 

8. Take every opportunity to make a video: Every opportunity you have to make a video, do so. Try to have a structure to your uploads; maybe try one a week or one every two days depending on how busy you are. But what ever you do don’t bombarded people with videos. Don’t feel once you have made one you have to upload it straight away. Also doing one a week at the same time will create structure and people can look forward to the next post. You can encourage them talk about it on social media as well.

 

9. Ensure your video is relevant to your industry: This may sound a little obvious, but at the end of the day the videos you are uploading are having a direct effect on what the users think of your website.

 

10. Get’s you found on Google: You find these days that YouTube videos often appear on Google search, so it is a great way of getting found in organic search engine results pages.
