Common Mistakes Made When Optimising for SEO Cambridge

SEO Cambridge; it’s a pretty competitive market, like most industries. When utilising any digital marketing strategy, you have to ensure that you complete every task properly and thoroughly. If you don’t, then we can almost guarantee that your competitors do. In this post, we look at 3 common mistakes that businesses make within their Cambridge SEO digital marketing strategy. 1. Believing there is a quick fix Quite simply, there is no quick fix to SEO. Search Engine Optimisation is a task that requires consistency and patience. When engaging in a Cambridge SEO campaign, ensure that your expectations are realistic. Research your keywords, your competitor’s performance and look at how much time you can dedicate to writing fresh blog posts. Ensure that you give your website the best chance to rank for local search queries by creating and implementing location based landing pages with good content. Don’t take your eye off the goal; make it as easy as possible for a user to make an enquiry or buy something. Why make a user click through to the contact us page to find a phone number? Add it to your category banner or the content itself. 2. Ignoring map results In an earlier blog, we discussed the power of map results. Google has a brilliant map feature which regularly ranks map results along with organic results for relevant search queries. Depending on your competition, by utilising Google Plus and Google for Business, your website can begin to rank on these results reasonably quick. Make sure you utilise the opportunity that Google map results give your business, and measure the effectiveness is has. 3. Not creating fresh content Content is so important in today’s digital world. Content provides evidence that you are an active business, highly knowledgeable within your sector. Fresh content in the form of blogs and articles allows you to gain a loyal following, whilst giving you a ranking advantage over your competitors. When creating fresh blogs and articles, it’s advisable to have a theme. Grab your keyword list, and write down a good number of topics that would interest your audience. Make sure these topics are tailored to your keywords and split up accordingly. Do not stuff your content with these keywords; you only need to include the keywords within the content a very small number of times. Writing one blog and thinking that will be enough is wrong. Remember in point 1, where we stated that SEO requires consistency? Consistency is key with fresh content.
