Facebook Recommendations Box - What Is It?

We at Digital Clicks have been searching to understand what Facebook’s recommendations box is. Other than a constant flow of how to add one to your page it seems no one really knows what it is. It is all rather confusing! We have found that although there is a recommendations box which can be placed on your Facebook page, there is also social plug in which you can add to your website offering recommendations to your customers viewing your website, and a recommendations bar. Since when did recommending something become so baffling? How does this make any sense? Surely if you are a business you should automatically have a recommendations box. Well not according to Facebook. So make sure you check your settings before asking you users to post recommendations. These can be easily changed by clicking on update info, address section (you may need to change your category for this to appear), add a valid address, and save your changes. Hey presto, you have a recommendations box! Why? Why? Why? It appears that no one really knows why. So we believe that although you may receive a few negative comments, which unlike your wall you cannot delete, the amount of positive comments you are likely to receive will out weight this. Imagine if two of those where about your business, product and/or service, the potential opportunities endless. What else is new? The launch of Facebook’s Graph search has created even more of a need to have a recommendations box. By doing so you can influence the Graph search results which appear. For example, say you are a Cup Cake business and you have been recommended by Miss Smith. If her friend searches for a Cup Cake business within her Facebook search bar, your business is likely to rank high due to Miss Smith’s recommendation. This allows you to compete with the other 16 million business pages which have been launched since May 2013. So get that recommendations box sorted, gain that direct contact with your customers, and keep them continually satisfied. And Compete!
