Why TV is worth a look now.

TV used to feel out of reach for a lot of businesses. That's changed. Broadcasters now let you target by area and audience, streaming services sell ads to millions of UK homes, and new tools make it quicker to produce an ad. ITV, Sky and Channel 4 have all launched ways to bring businesses onto TV for the first time. What hasn't changed is that TV still needs a clear plan, a good ad and the right slots. That's what we do.

Linear TV.

Linear TV is the traditional schedule: ads shown in the breaks on channels like ITV, Channel 4 and Sky's channels. It's still the quickest way to put your name in front of a lot of people at once. We'd suggest it when you want to be known across a region or the whole country, or when you're launching something and want people talking about it. We choose the channels, programmes and times that fit your audience, not just the cheapest slots.

Broadcaster streaming and connected TV.

Broadcaster streaming services, like ITVX and Channel 4's streaming service, show ads to people watching on smart TVs, laptops and phones. Because people are signed in, you can target by audience and area much more closely than on linear TV. That makes it a good fit if you only serve part of the country. You can read more on our connected TV advertising page.

Sky AdSmart shows your ad only to the households you choose, by town, postcode or local area, on Sky's live TV and on demand. So a business in Cambridge or Manchester can run a TV ad to homes nearby without paying for people who'd never visit.

Streaming ad tiers.

Netflix, Disney+ and Prime Video all have ad plans now. Barb figures show the Netflix ad tier reaches 7.3m UK households, about a quarter of UK homes. Disney says 43% of Disney+ viewing hours in the UK are watched by 16 to 34 year olds, so streaming is a useful way to reach people who don't watch much live TV. We plan streaming alongside broadcaster TV, so you reach people wherever they watch without paying to show the same person the same ad too often.

How we plan, make and buy TV.

01

Plan

We start with who you want to reach and what you want them to do. Then we build a plan across linear TV, broadcaster streaming, AdSmart and streaming services, with the areas, audiences, timings and how TV links to your other channels.

02

Make

Our production team writes the script and makes the ad, from a 30 second spot to a short streaming ad or a pause ad. We get it ready for Clearcast approval before it goes out.

03

Buy

We buy the airtime and streaming impressions for you. We'll tell you where your money is going and why.

04

Improve

Once it's live, we watch how it's doing and adjust the plan. You get regular reports in plain English.

Measuring TV.

You can measure TV more clearly than most people think. We look at website visits, searches for your name and enquiries in the areas and times your ad ran. Industry tools help too. Barb's CFlight lets advertisers measure campaigns across ITV, Sky and Channel 4, and Amazon has said Prime Video will join it next year. Self-serve TV platforms also offer tracking pixels that link TV viewing to actions on your website. Please be aware that TV often works over weeks, not days, so we judge it on the full picture.

AI and production.

We use AI tools in our own work, and they're genuinely useful for TV. They help us test ideas quickly, make lots of versions for different areas or offers, and turn still images into simple video. Broadcasters are using them too: ITV's AI ad tool brought 16 new-to-TV businesses onto TV in its first year, and Sky has its own AI toolkit for first-time advertisers.

AI doesn't replace the idea, though. If every business builds an ad from its website with the same tool, the ads start to look the same. We use AI for speed and versions, and our team makes sure the idea, the script and the look are clearly yours. Read our blog on AI made TV ads for more.

TV as part of a full advertising agency.

TV works best when it isn't on its own. Someone sees your ad on ITVX, hears you on the radio, passes your billboard and then searches for you. We plan all of that together, which is why we're a full advertising agency rather than a TV specialist. See how we plan campaigns across channels on Everywhere and the full list of what we do on our services page.
